Florida's Green Home Standard is the only one in the nation to include a Disaster Mitigation Category
In light of the recent storms and associated flooding in Florida, we're providing a reminder that the FGBC green home standard includes a catagory for disaster mitigation. Applicants receive point credit for extra measures incorporated in the home to reduce damage from hurricanes, floods, fires, and termites. A green home is one that can resist some of nature's fury so as to avoid replacing materials.
