Green Home Certifications Climb
Despite industry woes, green homes still in
demand
 With
FGBC Green Home certifications passing the 1,550 mark in January
2008, the Florida Green Building Coalition leads the state in
home certifications. Green homes significantly reduce negative
impacts on our environment, and thus help the fight against

Loggerhead MarineLife Center Earns FGBC Commercial Certification
The Center is truly all about sustainability
Congratulations to the Loggerhead
MarineLife Center for earning the FGBC Green Commercial
Building designation. It is the second commercial facility in
the state to earn the honor.
Located in Palm Beach County, the Loggerhead MarineLife Center
houses a sea turtle hospital and a variety of exhibits.

FGBC Membership Passes 700 Mark
Global Concerns Spur the 'Green Rush'
In one year, FGBC has seen its membership climb from 355 to 719
members. As more and more research shows that global warming is a
real threat, people are taking the call to action.
FGBC is dedicated to ensuring a more sustainable Florida by
providing green building programs that promote both environmental
and economic benefits.
FGBC members participate in policy formulation, community
education and the development of Florida's built environment. Each
member brings a unique perspective and talent.

Cook Takes the Helm at FGBC
Retiring Executive Director Roy Bonnell leaves
behind a legacy
The Florida Green Building Coalition selected Suzanne B. Cook,
CAE to succeed Roy O. Bonnell, Jr. as executive director.
Cook is a graduate of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce's prestigious
Institute of Organizational Management and has earned
association management's highest professional credential -
Certified Association Executive (CAE) - from the American
Society of Association Executives (ASAE).
Bonnell is a founding member of FGBC and has lead the Coalition
for seven years.
