FGBC Mid-Year Conference Set for June 18

We found an eco-tourism gem for the FGBC Mid-Year Conference scheduled for June 18, 2015 at the Plantation Inn on Crystal River in (of course) Crystal River, FL. Swim with manatees, rent a kayak to explore the Crystal River National Wildlife Refuge, or fish for Tarpon, Redfish or Speckled Trout and bring it back to let the resort chef cook it for you. So bring the family for a few extra days of summer fun. [Download Registration Brochure]

The conference begins at 8 a.m. on Thursday, June 18 with a breakfast and roundtable discussions. At 9 a.m. we'll move into the FGBC General Membership meeting where it's your time to be in the spotlight. We'll recognize outstanding contributions by members, highlight recent accomplishments, get you focused on pushing forward some of FGBC's strategic planning goals, and ask for your feedback on whatever issues you feel are important to the FGBC.

Then we'll break out into committee meetings where the real work starts. Several of the FGBC certification standards are in the modification process, so pick your interest and help them review criteria to ensure it represents the newest regulations and technology advances.

Join your kindred spirits on June 18, strengthen important business connections, learn by participation, and enjoy all that the Plantation Inn on Crystal River has to offer. There's no better place to understand the importance of sustainability.

The rapid change in the Arctic is almost unbelievable, until you see this video from NASA. (The last 20 seconds are the most shocking).

FGBC Background and Mission

The Florida Green Building Coalition (FGBC) is a nonprofit 501(C)3 Florida corporation dedicated to improving the built environment. Our mission is to lead and promote sustainability with environmental, economic, and social benefits through regional education and certification programs.

FGBC was conceived and founded in the belief that green building programs will be most successful if there are clear and meaningful principles on which "green" qualification and marketing are based. We are a membership-based organization governed by a Board of Directors and corporate officers who are elected by the general membership.

The FGBC is continually finding new and innovative ways to educate builders, developers, local governments, and consumers about how to achieve a healthier, more environmentally sustainable future.

The purposes of the Florida Green Building Coalition are:

2004 - Sustainable Florida 'Best Practices' Award
2013 - American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy (ACEEE) and the Alliance for Water Efficiency (AWE) Exemplary Water-Energy Program
