Jim Barnes is Assistant Village Manager for the Village of Wellington, Florida. Barnes joined the Village in 2003 and previously served in several posts including, Director of Operations, Deputy Director of Operations, Parks & Recreation Director, Deputy Director of Environmental & Engineering Services, and Assistant Director of Community Services. Barnes is certified by the American Institute of Certified Planners with an advanced specialty certification in Environmental Planning, and is a Certified Parks Recreation Professional by the National Recreation & Park Association. Additionally, he is a Credentialed Manager by the International City/County Management Association. Barnes leads many of Wellington’s sustainability efforts in its operations and projects having  completed and occupied a LEED Gold Municipal Complex and achieving Gold Certified Green Local Government status from the Florida Green Building Coalition.

He spent over 10 years as communications director for the Northeast Florida Builders Association, seven as PR director for Renaissance Creative, a major real estate brand development firm, and time as a newspaper editor, reporter, publicist and broadcaster. Mike was appointed to the Board in 2016 to fill an open position and is now seeking re-election. For the past few months he has been instrumental in developing FGBC brand awareness efforts

Peggy is the Broker/Owner of Bee Green Realty LLC and has enjoyed over 30 years experience in Real Estate development, with seven years in commercial (Multi Family) in Houston, Texas. She is passionate about empowering Realtors/brokers/builders, and pretty much everyone she comes in contact with, to make green choices to improve our homes and help our environment. Peggy holds a NAR (National Association of Realtors) Green Certification, is FHA 203k Construction & Rehab Certified, and Shortsale, Foreclosure & REO certified. She serves as the Manatee Association of Realtors 2014 Treasurer, has been a Board of Director since 2011, the Manatee Association of Realtors Green Chair from 2011-2014, and the Manatee/Sarasota Builders Industry Association Green Chair. She received the PRIM award from Manatee Association, ReMax Hall of Fame recognition, and Five Star Realtor in Sarasota distinction. She is a member of the National Association of Professional Women and Manatee Chamber of Commerce and serves as a Board member of the Old Braden River Historical Society. Peggy is seeking re-election for her second term on the FGBC Board.

Randy has been a state certified builder for 30+ years, with experience in Commercial and custom contract residential construction projects in the Tallahassee area. He retired from Randy Conn Builder, Inc. in 2010, and remains a principal in ES Green and Company, LLC., a green certification consulting firm. He has extensive knowledge of building science, building practices and green building methods, and communicates well with building professionals, speaking the same language and having accumulated many of the same experiences. Randy has certified over 500 homes to the Florida Green Building Coalition’s “Florida Green” Certified Home Standard and was the top producing FGBC Certifying Agent in 2009. He has been involved in ENERGY STAR® qualification of homes, gathering data for HERS Index computation and in performance testing. He was the FGBC Home Committee chair for over two years and actively participates on the FGBC Commercial Building and High-Rise Residential Standard committees.

Barry is a true native Floridian with roots dating back over 100 years to Miami and South Florida. He has been a business owner for over 15 years, and is an FGBC Certifying Agent. He is active on many FGBC committees, including Education, Programs & Promotions, Homes, and Local Government. Within his community, Barr is Chair of the city of Hollywood’s Green Team Advisory Committee to the City Commission and is a member of the Broward County Climate Change Task Force. He is also Chair of the Leadership Hollywood Environmental Day – a 40 year old program of the Hollywood Chamber with over 1000 graduates, including many elected or appointed officials serving at the local, state, and national levels. Barry’s educational background includes studies in environment, social, technology, building, and electronic systems.

Arturo is a licensed architect and general contractor and owner of itecdesign based in Miami, Fl. As founding member for the 16-year old architecture and design firm itecdesign, Arturo has been involved in all aspects of the design and construction process for many project types in locations throughout the USA, China, South America, and the Caribbean. In addition, Arturo is the founding member of G3designbuild, a consulting firm dedicated to green building technology. Arturo has recruited several high-rise projects for certification by FGBC and he is active on the FGBC High-Rise Committee.

Cindy Hall currently serves as Chair of the FGBC Programs and Promotions Committee and is a Past President and Board Member of FGBC. She is an independent consultant and account manager for small businesses as well as in independent sales representative for several hardscape material manufacturers. Cindy has been involved in green building and the FGBC since 2007. In that same year, she founded and chaired the Treasure Coast Builders Association’s (TCBA) Green Building Council to help educate local builders. She remained the chair for the next 4 years. Cindy has been an active participant in many of the FGBC committees, primarily Programs & Promotions, Green Trends, and Membership. She initiated the FGBC Regional Liaison program and serves as Regional Liaison for the Treasure Coast region.  She currently serves on the executive boards of the TCBA and is a Past 2nd Vice President and current Life Director of the Florida Home Builders Association (FHBA). In 2010 Cindy received the FHBA “Woman of Distinction” award for her contributions to the industry.

Greg Hardwick is president and owner of Hardwick G.C. in Maitland and has over 22 years of experience in the multi-million dollar construction business. He is a LEED Accredited Professional (LEED AP) through the US Green Building Council (USGBC) and through the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) is designated as a Certified Graduate Builder (CGB), part of the first Certified Green Professional (CGP) graduating class, and one of the first 10 to achieve the Master CGP. He served as president of the Home Builders Association (HBA) of Metro Orlando in 2013 and was instrumental in establishing the local HBA Green Building Committee, serving as the group’s founding Chairman.  He is a National Director for the NAHB and a State Director for the Florida Home Builder Association (FHBA) and serves on the 20 Member National Custom Home Builder’s Council and as Chair of the International Builders Show (IBS) Custom Builder Central subcommittee.  Hardwick also volunteers on the Orange County Board of Construction Codes and Appeals (Past Chair) and recently completed an appointment to the Orange County Sustainability Council for County Mayor Teresa Jacobs.

Deirdre Irwin has served as the Florida Water Star Program Coordinator since 2007 and has been instrumental in the program’s expansion into the commercial and institutional sectors. She received a Diploma in Environmental Management from Dublin Institute of Technology and a Bachelor of Environmental Science from the University of Ulster in Northern Ireland before coming to work for the St. Johns River Water Management District in 1989. She has experience with the District’s surface water regulatory programs, water resource education programs, and certification program development and implementation. Deirdre has been a subject matter expert for the development of the EPA WaterSense home certification criteria and she serves on the technical advisory committee for the UF IFAS Putnam St Johns Horticultural Program. She currently serves on the Florida Green Building Coalition Board of Directors.

Bill Kachman is a retired Army Major of Field Artillery. He worked for 12 years in the education field as a teacher, served as a registered lobbyist for Correctional Education, and as a distance education developer for Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. In 2004 he joined Environmental Construction & Consulting in Deland and got involved with green building. For the next nine years he helped manage the construction and consulting side of the company, working with builders, local governments and communities to further green building practices in Volusia and Lake counties. Bill says that in his retirement years, he is working to help FGBC grow in Florida and become the preeminent green organization in Florida.

Lara works as an Energy Conservation Specialist with the city of Tallahassee Underground Utilities in the Gas Department. She is an Energy Engineer, graduating with honors from State University in Magnitogorsk, Russia.She is a HERS Rater and Green Building agent. Lara serves on the Tallahassee Builders Association Board of Directors and is a member of the Tallahassee Board of Realtors. Lara is proud that the City of Tallahassee Gas Utility has been recognized by America Public Gas Association as a leader in customer growth for last five years and was awarded the APGA Soar award for excellence in operation.

Claire holds a Masters Degree in Landscape Architecture from the University of Florida and severs as the Florida-Friendly Landscaping (FFL) statewide Florida Yards & Neighborhoods Coordinator. Ms. Lewis functions as liaison with the UF/IFAS Extension agents around the state to promote adoption of environmentally sound landscape practices at new and existing communities. Prior to joining the FFL team, she worked 12 years for private landscape architecture firms in Gainesville. Design projects include large-scale commercial, institutional, and residential home sites.
  Katrina Locke

Katrina Locke is the Sustainability and Natural Resources Director in Volusia County’s Environmental Management Division. She manages Green Volusia, the county’s sustainability program, which includes the county’s Sustainability Action Plan, and also oversees the Lyonia Environmental Center (LEC), Sea Turtle Habitat Conservation, Manatee Protection Plan, and outdoor education programs. Katrina is actively involved in FGBC’s Education and Green Local Government committees. She is also a member of the Florida Sustainability Network and the Southeast Sustainability Directors Network. Previously, she managed the LEC from conceptual stages to operation. She worked on the green certified facility and interactive display designs, which include displays that illustrate green building practices. Katrina has a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Central Florida and a Bachelor of Science (honors) degree in Marine Biology from the University of Wales, Bangor.
  Ralph Locke

Ralph Locke is president of Environmental Construction and Consulting Inc. He is a Florida native and military combat veteran. Ralph has over 30 years of experience as a building professional and is one of the early pioneers in the green building field. Ralph has been a member of FGBC since 2004, and served as FGBC Vice President in 2013. He is an FGBC Certifying Agent working with multiple builders and developers. Ralph is currently serving as Chair of the FGBC Education Committee and actively participates on many of the FGBC working committees. In his everyday interactions, Ralph encourages change to sustainable building practices through verbal and hands-on education. He has worked with many local organizations, including local home building associations, contractors, local governments, homeowners, and high school students to promote green building practices. Ralph also volunteers as a subject matter expert for contractor testing. He holds state certified licenses as a building contractor, roofing contractor, solar contractor, and home inspector. In addition, Ralph is a Florida Water Star certifier (commercial and residential). He is an active leader and facilitator in the green building field and continues to encourage sustainable building and to promote FGBC and its programs.

Mr. Nelson served as Treasurer of FGBC in 2016. He has been active in the Florida Green Building Coalition since 2006, has served as a project evaluator, has been instrumental in drafting updates to FGBC standards, and has represented FGBC at various local government city and county meetings. Mr. Nelson is the owner of GreenGov, LLC., a consulting firm that has guided over 50 cities and counties on their sustainability goals. Prior to launching GreenGov, LLC. Mr. Nelson worked for the Florida Solar Energy Center (FSEC) for over eight years, promoting sustainability education and conducting energy efficiency research. Mr. Nelson holds an MBA from the University of Central Florida.

He is the Regional Liaison for the Central Florida area and participates on several FGBC committees. Nate is a LEED AP BD+C & Homes, CGP, Florida Water Star Certifier and Class I Energy Rater. Nate has an Undergraduate degree from Florida Southern College and earning his Master’s degree in Sustainable Construction Management from Drexel University. Nate has spent the last 15 years in sustainable construction building, researching, and consulting on high-performance homes and commercial structures. Recently, Nate has been providing this sustainable building-science expertise to a larger audience by founding a firm, GreenBuilt Solutions. Nate utilizes his experience to help clients incorporate sustainability into the building process seamlessly. She is past chair of the Sarasota Association of Realtors Green Realtor Alliance Committee (GRAS). In 2017 she was appointed to serve on the Board of Directors for the Florida Green Building Coalition and selected to serve as Vice Chair of the Professional Development Committee for RASM.
